We had Monday and Tuesday off because of a national feriado.
Unfortunately I didn’t travel because I wanted to save money, as well as the
fact that none of my friends were traveling either for the same reason. But
because it was a national feriado, everything was closed, so there was really
nothing to do unless you wanted to just do something outside. So I slept. A
lot. I hate myself for it. I really do. I got up at 2pm for 2 days in a row.
WHAT!?!?! I seriously thought I maybe had a sleeping order or that I was
getting mono. Because it wasn’t even like, oh I woke up at 10 but went back to
bed. It was like I was completely incapacitated for 12 hours.
Turns out I do have a sleeping disorder—it’s called, I
haven’t stopped once since I’ve gotten here and this was my first chance to get
as much sleep as I needed because there was literally nothing to do—although I
at least wished I could have read, or worked on writing. Additionally, I’m a
night owl, so for me, going to bed at 2-3am and waking up at noon is OK. Also,
I’m a habitual “snoozer”. The snooze button is the worst thing that was ever
invented. And with my alarm app on my iPad, I can press snooze an infinite
number of times. Problem? Yeah. But maybe it was good that this happened
because I was so disgusted with myself that I realized I needed a change. I’m
not saying I’m now the best at waking up, but 2pm—never again!!!
